Playlist 1. Enjoy a delicious meal from K-dramas-inspired kimbap to traditional Korean dishes

먹거리 플레이리스트 1

The kimbap that Huntrix likes to eat, <Palpandong Ggomak Gimbap & Toast>

When you enter the alleys of Palpandong in Bukchon, the smell of toasted sesame fills the air. The owner says the greatest reason for choosing this place was the warmth of Bukchon that lingers in the quiet hanok scenery. Guided by the principle of wanting “a single roll of kimbap to make you feel full,” they make their kimbap generous and filling. Recently, since <Kedehun>, foreign tourists looking for kimbap have also been steadily increasing.

A unique pork cutlet place, <Museum Next Door Donkatsu>

This restaurant, which has stood at the intersection beside ARTSAUNJAE Center, is a handmade pork cutlet specialty shop that has grown together with Bukchon. The ‘gochu-cheese donkatsu,’ made by carefully frying chilled Korean pork and adding natural cheese, is remembered by foreign visitors as a special dish.

Samcheong-dong instant tteokbokki spot, <Meokshidonna>

Located in an alley in Samcheong-dong, this place offers travelers the spicy taste of Korean tteokbokki with a secret sauce that has not changed over the years. The quiet alley scenery and warm atmosphere go hand in hand, and its reputation continues even among foreign visitors to Bukchon.

A hanok-mood Korean restaurant, <Maeumeul Damaneumyeon>

<Maeumeul Damaneumyeon> literally prepares a delicious table that anyone can comfortably stop by. Not only tourists visiting Bukchon, but also nearby office workers who come at lunchtime often leave here well fed and then stop by for a leisurely walk along the quiet streets of Bukchon. From noodle dishes to salads, it has won people over with a menu lineup that the whole family can enjoy together.

Playlist 2. Enjoy Bukchon’s distinctive street food

먹거리 플레이리스트 3

Chicken skewers and draft beer spot, <Dasaria>

The owner of <Dasaria> proudly says, “Our shop has many foreign visitors who came for a trip to Bukchon and then became regular customers.” He especially recalls as the most memorable moment when welcoming a guest who returned with his wife and children, carrying memories of a visit from eight years ago. It is a place known for the excellent combination of chicken skewers and draft beer that wins over tourists and local residents alike.

Address: 1 Bukchon-ro 5na-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul

Cookies baked by grandma, <Jeongae Cookie>

<Jeongae Cookie> says it settled here because the Bukchon hanok scenery and the calm texture of Gye-dong-gil matched surprisingly well with the handmade cookies it bakes. The owner opened the shop for the first time after turning 60 and has been baking cookies every day with Korean wheat and whole wheat flour ever since. This place offers visitors to Bukchon both health and warmth, becoming a sweet pause in the day. In particular, the cookie topped with gochubugak is the specialty here.

Address: 76 Gyedong-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul

Famous sweet-and-salty jjonddeogi, <Hwangnam Jjondeugi Samcheong>

<Hwangnam Jjondeugi Samcheong> opened with the idea of making a street snack that fits the neighborhood, focusing on the fact that Bukchon lacked light snacks to enjoy casually. The jjonddeogi, reinterpreted in a modern way with seasoning added, resembles Bukchon, where traditional hanok and modern sensibility coexist. Its greatest charm is that it introduces a snack unfamiliar to foreign tourists while also presenting a taste that carries Korean childhood memories.

Address: 78 Yulgok-ro 3-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul

Playlist 3. Enjoy a warm cup of tea at cafés that capture Bukchon’s atmosphere

먹거리 플레이리스트 4

Bingsu and jujube tea spot, <Jajaknamu Iyagi>

The owner of <Jajaknamu Iyagi> says they settled here after being captivated by Bukchon’s unique atmosphere, where tradition and modernity coexist and both foreign and Korean visitors come. From the red beans in the patbingsu to the tea, ssanghwa tea, and mulled wine, all ingredients are Korean-made, and the shop insists on a healthy taste without sugar so that anyone can enjoy it comfortably. In a space designed with the goal of feeling “as comfortable as my own room,” there is a warm everyday life where different generations, from grandfather to grandson, can rest in good health.

Address: 74-15 Yulbosun-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul

A café in the alley by Deokseong Girls’ Middle School, <Cafe Lotus>

<Cafe Lotus>, opened naturally by an owner who lives in Bukchon and has built a deep affection for the neighborhood, names the atmosphere of Bukchon, where past and present breathe side by side, as its greatest charm. It is conveniently located near Gyeongbokgung Palace and museums, making it a good place to enjoy a relaxed cup of coffee after a cultural outing, and its carefully selected beans are roasted directly by a professional roaster for a deep flavor. It is a space that adds the warmth of quiet rest for those who want to calmly end a day in Bukchon.

Address: 64 Yulgok-ro 1-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul

먹거리 플레이리스트 5

Four-season bingsu and traditional tea, <Tea Therapy>

<Tea Therapy> is special from the start because it began in an annex building of the Yun Bo-seon House, which has a history of more than 100 years. By modernly reinterpreting the old royal custom of boiling medicinal herbs and traditional herbal ingredients to drink, it was reborn as a place where simple herbal tea can now be enjoyed in Bukchon’s quiet atmosphere. The simple lunch menu, prepared daily with fresh ingredients bought personally, draws regulars who recognize the care behind it and leaves behind a warm aroma that makes you want to stay longer.
