Spectrasolv® DMDA is a multifunctional synthetically produced amide of dimethylamine and capric (n-decanoic) acid. Spectrasolv ® DMDA has vastly superior solvency for sunscreen actives compared to traditional esters such as C12-15 alkyl benzoate and isopropyl palmitate and is much more polar. According to research findings in our laboratories, the increased polarity may have a beneficial impact on the performance of many broad-spectrum sunscreen products. Its secondary amine and total nitrosamine contents conform to requirements presented in Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 on cosmetic products.
