Having excellent oxidation and thermal stability, DEKANEX 2006 FG is suitable for use in personal care products where it helps provide a smooth application. A synthetic oil, obtained by oligomerisation of 1-decene. Due to its manufacturing process, it consists of oligomers (C30, C40, C50 etc.) instead of a large collection of different constituents. Moreover, the severe purification processes applied provides an unsurpassed high purity, as demonstrated by the readily carbonisable substances test ('hot acid test'), as mentioned in the food monograph of hydrogenated polydecene. This provides for instance a high inertness and UV transparency, meaning it is suitable for demanding applications. The viscosity at 100 °C is around 6 cSt. A lower viscosity (around 4 cSt) is available as Dekanex 2004 FG.
