linear copolymers based on alternating methyl vinyl ether and maleic anhydride units Gantrez™ ES copolymers are partially esterified derivatives of methyl vinyl ether and maleic anhydride copolymers. They are produced by opening the anhydride ring with alcohols (e.g., ethyl, isopropyl, or butyl alcohol), resulting in 50% solids solutions in ethanol or isopropanol.
