PECTIN HE THICKENER. PECTIN HE is a complex polysaccharide naturally present in plant cells membrane, extracted from citrus fruits. It occurs as a fine white to slightly tan powder; when it comes in contact with water, it hydrates easily and forms a gel-like structure. PECTIN HE is an anionic polymer whose molecular weight can be easily manipulated; it controls viscosity and has rheological properties depending on the calcium concentration and reactivity. Compatible with salts up to 10%, stable under acid and neutral conditions, compatible with anionic, non-ionic and amphoteric surfactants. PECTIN HE provides moisture absorption while being skin friendly; can be used to prepare water-in-silicone emulsions, enabling non-wax sticks containing water-soluble actives. Features: rheological stable agent; synergies with polyol; makes clear formulations; viscosity controller; moisturize; good stabilizer; forms a flexible, continuous layer.
