One more thing to add to the checklist: materials that show “how it will sell after getting listed” in numbers are quite important. Rather than simply emphasizing market size or follower count, put together a one-page summary of target sales volume by SKU and supporting evidence (sales data from your own website, pop-ups, overseas channels, etc.), anticipated reorder timing, and production lead times. This will make the discussion more concrete. If you’re an early-stage brand with limited sales data, present clearly sourced and quantified materials separately, such as sampling feedback or surveys of purchase intent.
For promotional proposals, it’s safer to prepare profit-and-loss calculations based on regular and promotional prices, who will cover the costs, and an inventory sell-through plan, rather than listing only the discount rate. It’s also a good idea to establish pricing guidelines in advance to avoid conflicts with the lowest online prices or coupons on other channels. Finally, compare your product side by side with a few competing products, making it easy to see at a glance what differs in ingredients, texture, and price range. This also makes it easier for the buyer to share internally.
