When memories like these come up, I find that the place and packaging come to mind before the color. A sweetly scented tint bought at a stationery store, lipstick secretly applied from my mom’s vanity, even sunscreen passed around among friends before a school retreat—your first cosmetics feel like little events. 😄
I can’t make up a memory and say “my first cosmetics were…” but looking back by today’s standards, I think back then “does my friend have one?” and the color probably mattered more than the ingredients or skin type. What was your first product, and is there a color or scent you still remember?
