Fully activated rheology additive based on organophilic phyllosilicate for oil and solvent phases in personal care applications. [Product family] TIXOGEL additives are fully activated mastergels from BYK for use as rheology additives in personal care applications. The additives provide thixotropic flow behavior, as well as pigment suspension in a variety of cosmeticformulations. TIXOGEL-VSP is aneasy-to-use, fully activated mastergel consisting of quaternium-90 bentonite dispersed in cyclopentasiloxane and cyclohexasiloxane. Quaternium-90 bentonite is an organically modified bentonite (organophilic phyllsilicate) of non-animal origin for use in cosmetic products. The additive provides thixotropic flow behavior in a variety of solvent-based cosmetic formulations. It is characterized by excellent spreadability, improved gloss and enhanced skin feel in the formulations. Additionally, it is used for thickening and stabilizing emulsions and for pigment suspension in color cosmetics. 적용: Creams and lotions (especially recommended), Sunscreen products (especially recommended), Antiperspirants/deos, Hair styling products (especially recommended), Liquid makeup [Incorporation] TIXOGEL-VSP can be easily incorporated at almost any stage of the manufacturing process with medium shear. For an optimal dispersion, the additive is mixed and homogenized with a portion of the most compatible organic component or solvent of the formulation before other ingredients are added. [Note] TIXOGEL-VSP is a fully activated mastergel. It does not require further activation.The additive is not suitable for rinse-off products.
