How to groom men’s eyebrows without it being noticeable

Even just grooming your eyebrows can make quite a difference to your appearance. The key is not to “shape them,” but to only tidy up the hairs that stick out.

5-minute eyebrow grooming

  1. Brush upward with a spoolie
  2. Use scissors only on long hairs sticking up
  3. Tidy only the stray hairs under the brows and between them
  4. Leave the natural shape as it is

To keep it from being noticeable, the key is to tidy up just the hairs that stick out beyond the edges, a little at a time, rather than shaving down the arch or tail to change the shape. First, brush your eyebrows upward with a spoolie, then use small scissors to trim just the tips of hairs that extend above the brow line, one or two snips at a time. Cutting them too short all at once can make them look sparse.

Underneath, pluck only the hairs that are isolated and fall toward the eyelid, and leave the dense hairs inside the brows and the natural arch as they are. That makes it less obvious that you’ve groomed them. Preserving their natural direction looks more natural than trying to make both sides perfectly identical. If it’s your first time, work gradually in good lighting, then check both sides in a straight-on photo. If redness lasts a long time or your skin stings, it’s best not to touch them any more that day.
