Short questions are welcome. Include the product name or ingredient list, your skin type and concerns, and the order you currently use products for a more specific answer. For example, “I have dry skin—when should I apply a niacinamide serum, before or after my cream?”
If you experience stinging or swelling, stop using the new product for now. If symptoms are severe or persist, please consult a dermatologist. Feel free to ask lighter questions too, such as about ingredient compatibility or the order of your routine.
Is it okay to use a vitamin C serum in the morning on days I use retinol?
Yes, you can generally use both by applying retinol in the evening and vitamin C serum in the morning. However, if you’re new to either ingredient or your skin is sensitive, start using vitamin C 2–3 times a week and gradually increase how often you use retinol too, while watching for overlapping irritation.
In the morning, apply moisturizer after vitamin C and use plenty of sunscreen. If stinging or redness persists, take a break from both ingredients; if it’s severe or continues, it’s best to check with a dermatologist.
