Korean "glow over coverage" base: does it survive a Japanese summer?
Korean base makeup today leans toward a skincare-like glow that looks like bare skin rather than full coverage. It is popular in Japan too, but comment sections keep returning to the same debate.
Team glow says
- Thin layers mean less dryness and a natural look hours later
- A primer or cushion is enough, so mornings are easy
- Concealer only where you need it does the job

- Japan's summer humidity and sweat can turn glow into shine
- With masks or long days out, it creases more easily

Compromises that come up a lot
- A light dusting of powder on the T-zone, glow left on the cheeks
- Semi-matte cushion in summer, glowy one in winter
- Keep the base thin but check how your skincare and sunscreen layer under it
Many people seem to adjust how they use it, on the understanding that Korea's climate and a Japanese summer are not the same.
