Skip-care: is the Korean routine getting shorter?

For years the "10-step routine" was the image of Korean skincare. Lately beauty press keeps pointing to the opposite idea: skip-care, cutting a routine down to the steps that actually do something.

What skip-care usually looks like

  • A gentle cleanser
  • One hydrating or treatment step (often a multitasking toner, essence or serum)
  • A moisturizer
  • Sunscreen in the morning

Why people like it

  • Fewer chances to irritate the skin with overlapping actives
  • Less money spent and less packaging
  • Easier to see which product is really working

The pushback: some fans say layering light, watery textures is exactly what they enjoy, and that "skip" can become an excuse to drop sunscreen or moisturizer.

Where do you land? Have you cut steps recently, or added more?
