Arriving at the hotel to find your cleanser or moisturiser still at home is really common. Good news: Korea has convenience stores on almost every corner, and many basics can be picked up on the spot.

• Small lotions and creams, sometimes brand mini sizes
• Sheet masks, sold singly
• Sunscreen: easier to find in summer and in tourist areas
• Lip balm and hand cream

• Cover cleanse + moisturise + sunscreen first; the rest can wait
• Sensitive skin? Pick simple, fragrance-free options and skip trying a new sheet mask
• If there's a drugstore nearby, get something better suited the next day
