In Korea’s men’s skincare sections, you do often see “올인원 (all-in-one)” products that are easy to use even after shaving, and “남성용 BB크림 (men’s BB cream)” with light color correction. That said, there’s no problem with using products that aren’t specifically made for men. It’s more practical to choose based on your skin type and how the product feels, rather than its scent or “for men” labeling.
If you’re looking for a first step, use sunscreen (선크림) in the morning. If you don’t like a sticky feel, look for a gel or fluid formula and apply a sufficient amount over your entire face. All-in-one products are for people who want to keep moisturizing simple, but if your skin tends to get dry, it’s also fine to layer a separate emulsion or cream.
With BB cream, finding a shade that matches your skin tone is most important. If you’re shopping in person, apply a small amount along your jawline and wait a little while to check the color; this can help you avoid a bad match. Tone-up products can look chalky, so it’s best to first try a thin layer of tinted BB cream. Follow the product directions when removing it, and if it doesn’t come off easily with just a cleanser, use a makeup remover. If you have painful irritation or a sudden rash, consult a dermatologist rather than focusing on choosing skincare products.
