Short for polydeoxyribonucleotide. It is a DNA-derived ingredient, and in cosmetics you often see it labelled as salmon-derived.
In Korea the name was mostly heard in clinic treatments before it spread into skincare products.

What it means in a cosmetic

In a cosmetic, it sits within what cosmetics do: conditioning and moisturising the skin.
It is worth remembering that a cream or mist is not the same thing as an in-clinic procedure.
