Korean sunscreen at 35 °C and full humidity: making it last
Korean sunscreens are known for feeling light, but in Monterrey, Guayaquil, Seville in August or the Caribbean the real question is: how do I keep it on my face at 3 pm? These are the tips people repeat most:
- Use the real amount. The labelled protection is measured with a generous layer. Less product means less protection, whatever the weather.
- Let it set. Wait a few minutes before makeup or heading outside.
- Fewer layers underneath. In humid weather many people cut the morning to a gentle cleanse, a light moisturiser (or none for oily skin) and sunscreen.
- Look for "water-resistant" if you'll sweat a lot or go to the beach, and reapply after swimming or towelling.
- Reapply. SPF mists, sticks and powders help with touch-ups, but most people treat them as a top-up, not the main layer.
- Texture by skin type: gel or fluid for oily skin; cream for dry.
And don't skip neck, ears and hands.
