Combination skin: treat zones, not the whole face
Combination skin gets easier once you stop using one product for everything. Lighter on the T-zone, richer on the cheeks.

That zone-based approach makes sense, with one caveat: keep the basics simple across the whole face, then vary moisturizer where you actually feel dry or oily. A lightweight, fragrance-free lotion can work everywhere; add a thin layer of a richer cream only on cheek areas that feel tight. You don’t need separate cleansers for each zone.
For daytime, use a comfortable broad-spectrum sunscreen over the whole face—different textures by zone are fine if one formula feels too greasy on the T-zone. At night, a gentle cleanse and moisturizer are a solid baseline. If shine is the main concern, blotting or a little powder is often less irritating than repeatedly washing or stripping the skin.
Patch-test new products, especially richer creams or exfoliants, and change one thing at a time so it’s easier to tell what suits you. What tends to be the bigger challenge for you: midday shine, or cheeks that feel dry and tight?
