First trip to Korea as a guy: what skincare should you actually buy?
Plenty of men tag along to a Korean drugstore with a partner or friends and end up staring at the shelves: so what do I buy?
The usual approach in men's skincare threads is few but solid:
- Cleanser: a fresh type for oily skin, a gentle non-tight one for dry skin
- An all-in-one moisturiser: men's sections in Korea are full of toner-plus-lotion combos, ideal if you want one step
- Sunscreen: the step many men skip; start with something light, not greasy, no white cast
- Lip balm: useful in winter and air-conditioned rooms
In-store tips
- Big stores usually have a men's section; start there
- Unsure of your skin type? Buy small sizes first
- If shaving leaves you stinging, look for gentle, fragrance-free products
