How should I plan the next few days after getting a skin treatment in Seoul?

Many people schedule dermatology treatments in the middle of a trip, but the recovery period (redness, scabbing, needing to avoid sunlight) can affect the rest of the itinerary.

The key isn't “which day gives you the best value,” but the type of treatment and how much buffer time you can leave. Don't pack your schedule on the day of the treatment: head back to your accommodation and rest. Don't include a jjimjilbang, sauna, strenuous exercise, swimming, or prolonged sun exposure outdoors in the days afterward. Follow the clinic's post-treatment instructions for how many days to avoid these activities; it varies a lot between treatments.

If you're getting a laser or energy-based treatment that may cause noticeable redness, pinpoint scabbing, or require strict sun avoidance, it's best to schedule it toward the end of your trip and leave at least a day or two of flexibility. More noticeable recovery can take longer, so ask the clinic directly about expected changes in appearance and follow-up appointments before booking your flight. Even gentler treatments can still cause a reaction, so first confirm whether you can wear makeup, wash your face, and use sunscreen. Don't pick at scabs. If sunscreen or skincare products sting, stop using them and contact the clinic. If pain worsens, blisters appear, or you have an unusual reaction, see a dermatologist promptly.

Rather than rushing from one attraction to the next, you'll be able to plan your route better if you ask before booking: “How many days until I can see people? Can I spend time outdoors? Do I need a follow-up appointment?”
