Breakouts on your back? Body care habits people often point to

Bumps on the back and chest are common in hot, humid weather, and body washes marketed for "body trouble" are a big category in Korea. Before buying anything, many people find the everyday habits matter as much as the product.

Habits commonly suggested:

  • Rinse hair products off the back last. Conditioner and treatment residue can sit on the skin, so some people wash their body after rinsing hair.
  • Shower soon after sweating, and change out of damp workout clothes.
  • Wash towels, sheets and pillowcases regularly.
  • Go gentle. Scrubbing hard with rough towels can irritate already sensitive skin.
  • Give a body wash time. Leave it on the skin for a short moment before rinsing, as the label directs.

When to see a professional: painful, widespread or persistent breakouts, or anything that leaves marks, are worth showing to a dermatologist rather than trying product after product.

What has made the biggest difference for your back or chest skin: a product, a habit, or seeing a doctor?
