First beauty shopping day in Seoul: Myeongdong, Seongsu or Hongdae?

Each Seoul neighbourhood has a very different feel for beauty shopping. Here's roughly what travel forums keep saying:

• Myeongdong: road shops and big stores packed together, so it's great for ​comparing a lot in one go. It also comes up often as crowded and a bit hectic.
• Seongsu: brand ​pop-ups and flagshipsrotate constantly, so it feels like the place to go​see what's new. Many people turn it into a full day with cafés.
• Hongdae: young vibe, easy to mix with fashion and knick-knack shopping, and ​lively into the evening.

There's no right answer. With a short trip, people often focus on one area; with more time, a common tip is Seongsu in the morning and Hongdae at night.
