sr-(Methionyl Tripeptide-46 Hexapeptide-40 Decapeptide-27 sh-Polypeptide-190 sh-Polypeptide-191) is a single chain recombinant peptide produced by fermentation in E. coli. The starting gene is synthesized by the fusion of the genes from Tripeptide-46, Hexapeptide-40, Decapeptide-27, sh-Polypeptide-190, and sh-Polypeptide-191 with the initiation code for methionine. The fusion peptide contains 353 amino acids which may contain disulfide bonds and/or glycosylation, and consists of the proper sequence from the 20 standard amino acids.
