sh-Oligopeptide-109 SP is a single chain human peptide produced synthetically to be identical to a portion of the protein, Defensin-5, and contains 32 amino acids consisting of alanine, arginine, cysteine, glutamic acid, glycine, isoleucine, leucine, serine, threonine, tyrosine and valine. Defensin-5 contains a maximum of 94 amino acids which may contain disulfide bonds and/or glycosylation. It consists of the proper sequence from the 20 standard amino acids.
