sh-Heptapeptide-8 SP is the single chain human peptide produced synthetically to be identical to a portion of the protein, Collagen Alpha-1 (XVI) and contains 7 amino acids consisting of alanine, glutamic acid, glutamine, glycine and lysine. Collagen Alpha-1 (XVI) chain contains a maximum of 1604 amino acids which may contain disulfide bonds and/or glycosylation. The protein consists of the proper sequence of the 20 standard amino acids.
