r-(Dipeptide-43 Mussel Polypeptide-2 Dipeptide-44 Mussel Oligopeptide-1 Tetrapeptide-70 Mussel Polypeptide-2 Dipeptide-40 sh-Pentapeptide-40) is a single chain fusion peptide, produced by fermentation in E. coli. The starting gene is synthesized by the fusion of the genes from Dipeptide-43, r-Mussel Polypeptide-2, Dipeptide-44, r-Mussel Oligopeptide-1, Tetrapeptide-70, Dipeptide-40 and sh-Pentapeptide-40. The fusion peptide contains 210 amino acids which may contain disulfide bonds and/or glycolsylation and consists of the proper sequence of the 20 amino acids.
