Polyurethane-99 is a polymer that is made in several steps. First, an ester polyol polymer is made by reacting Succinic Acid with 1,4-Butanediol and Neopentyl Glycol. The ester polyol is then reacted with Saturated Methylene Diphenyl Diisocyanate to form a polyurethane. The polyurethane is then chain extended and made water dispersible by reacting it with the sodium salt of 2-((2-aminoethyl)amino ethanesulfonic acid and Ethylenediamine.

JCIA 표시명 ポリウレタン－９９: 本品は、多段階反応によって得られるウレタン共重合体である。初めにコハク酸（＊）、１，４－ブタンジオール（＊）及びネオペンチルグリコール（＊）の反応によって得られるエステルポリオールポリマーに飽和メチレンジフェニルジイソシアネート（＊）（ＳＭＤＩ）を反応させてポリウレタンを得る。次に２－（２－アミノエチル）アミノエタンスルホン酸のナトリウム塩とエチレンジアミンを反応させることによって鎖延長し、水分散性を持たせたものである。
