Polyurethane-98 is a urethane polymer that is made in several steps. First, a polyether diol is made by reacting 1,2-butylene oxide with Propylene Glycol. A second diol polymer is made by condensing Adipic Acid and Isophthalic Acid with 3-methylpentane-1,5-diol. These two polymers are mixed and then reacted with Trimethylhexamethylene Diisocyanate to form a polyurethane. The polyurethane is capped with Hydroxyethyl Acrylamide.

JCIA 표시명 ポリウレタン－９８: 本品は、数工程によって得られるウレタン重合体である。初めに、１，２－ブチレンオキシドとプロピレングリコール（ＰＧ（＊））の反応によってポリエーテルジオールを得る。次に、アジピン酸（＊）、イソフタル酸及び３－メチルペンタン－１，５－ジオールの縮合反応によってジオール重合体を得る。これら２つの重合体を混合し、トリメチルヘキサメチレンジイソシアネートと反応させて得られるポリウレタンの両末端をヒドロキシエチルアクリルアミド（＊）でブロックしたものである。
