Methionyl s-Melittin SP is a single chain peptide synthetically produced to be identical to Melittin found in bee venom. The starting gene is synthesized by the fusion of the gene from s-Melittin with the initiation code for methionine. The peptide contains 70 amino acids which may contain disulfide bonds and/or glycosylation, and consists of the proper sequence of the 20 standard amino acids.

이 원료는 벌독에서 발견된 멜리틴(Melittin)과 동일하도록 합성하여 얻은 단일 사슬 펩타이드이다. 출발 유전자는 메티오닌 개시코드와 에스-멜리틴의 유전자를 융합하여 합성한 것이다. 펩타이드는 글라이코실화 및/또는 다이설파이드결합을 포함할 수 있는 70개의 아미노산으로 구성되어 있다. 그 단백질을 구성하는 아미노산은 표준아미노산이다.
