Points to consider
과도한 사용 시 피부 자극이 발생할 수 있습니다. Gluconolactone is well tolerated by sensitive and reactive skin types due to its gentle mode of action and hydration benefits. It causes minimal irritation or redness, making it suitable for long-term use and in post-procedure or compromised skin. It is microbiome-friendly, supporting skin health without disruption.
Usage reference
Gluconolactone is a polyhydroxy acid (PHA) derived from gluconic acid. Due to its relatively large molecular size, it penetrates the skin superficially, providing mild, non-irritating exfoliation by breaking down desmosomes—the protein bonds between dead skin cells—allowing for their gentle removal. It hydrolyzes gradually to gluconic acid upon application, enabling slow, sustained exfoliation that minimizes irritation. Additionally, gluconolactone acts as a potent humectant, attracting and binding moisture in the stratum corneum to improve hydration and skin barrier function. It exhibits antioxidant properties, helps protect against environmental oxidative stress, and improves skin texture and tone. Clinical studies also show gluconolactone’s efficacy in reducing acne lesions with less dryness compared to traditional treatments.
