DIHYDROARTEMISINIC ACID

Dihydroartemisinic acid is a monocarboxylic acid that is propanoic acid substituted at position 2 by a (1S,4R,4aS,8aR)-4,7-dimethyl-1,2,3,4,4a,5,6,8a-octahydronaphthalen-1-yl group. It is a sesquiterpenoid precursor of the antimalarial drug, artemisinin. It has a role as a plant metabolite. It is a member of octahydronaphthalenes, a monocarboxylic acid, a sesquiterpenoid and a carbobicyclic compound. It is a conjugate acid of a dihydroartemisinate.
